General Booking, Changes and Cancellations Policy

Entre em contato conosco!

Last updated: August 8, 2026

This Policy sets out the general terms publicly applicable to bookings intermediated by San Blas Shared. Certain experiences, service providers, dates, or circumstances may be subject to specific terms, which will be provided to the customer before payment.

Before making any payment, the customer will receive the specific policy applicable to the intended booking. If there is any conflict between this General Policy and the specific policy accepted by the customer before payment, the specific policy will prevail.

The specific policy will be provided to the customer in a format that allows it to be read and retained.

1. Person Responsible for the Booking

The person who requests and confirms the booking will be considered the person responsible for the booking.

That person will be responsible for:

  • providing accurate information for all passengers;
  • communicating the terms of the experience to the other members of the group;
  • informing the other members of the group of the applicable rules and ensuring that they receive the necessary guidance;
  • centralizing requests for changes or cancellations;
  • making or coordinating payments;
  • informing us of relevant restrictions, needs, and expectations.

Requests that change the booking will be processed only when submitted by the person responsible for the booking.

Information and guidance related to the hiring of transportation companies, details of the experience, payment details and instructions, the commercial terms of the booking, and any other matters related to the booking will be provided exclusively to the person responsible for the booking. It will be that person’s responsibility to pass on to the other members of the group any information they consider necessary.

2. Steps for Forming the Booking

The booking formation process occurs as follows:

  1. the customer requests information about an experience;
  2. San Blas Shared checks availability with the catamaran or accommodation provider;
  3. the characteristics of the experience, included services, price, and other commercial terms are presented;
  4. the customer indicates a wish to proceed and agrees to the experience and the price;
  5. San Blas Shared sends the specific Booking, Changes and Cancellations Policy applicable to the booking;
  6. after receiving the specific policy, the customer indicates agreement by requesting the payment details, instructions, or payment link;
  7. after that indication of agreement, San Blas Shared sends the payment details, instructions, or payment link;
  8. the customer pays the amount required for the booking; and
  9. the booking is formed only after San Blas Shared confirms in writing that the full required amount has actually been received.

Submitting a form, request, quotation request, or expression of interest does not constitute a booking.

Acceptance of the specific policy, by itself, also does not constitute a booking.

3. Actual Receipt of Payment

The booking will be confirmed only when the full amount required to form the booking has been:

  • actually received;
  • made available;
  • identified; and
  • confirmed in writing by San Blas Shared.

Transfer receipts, payment receipts, screenshots, card authorizations, or messages issued by banks or payment platforms do not, by themselves, prove actual receipt by San Blas Shared.

International transfers and card payments may be affected by:

  • errors when entering payment details;
  • declines;
  • blocks;
  • holds;
  • reversals or chargebacks;
  • delays;
  • fee deductions;
  • processing failures;
  • payment sent to an incorrect account;
  • other events that prevent receipt of the funds.

Until the amount has actually been received and confirmed, the experience is not booked, even if the customer has initiated payment or provided a payment receipt.

4. Booking Amount

The amount or percentage required to form the booking will be provided by San Blas Shared during the booking process and may vary according to the terms of the booking.

5. Fees and Payment Differences

Fees charged by banks, card platforms, financial intermediaries, currency conversion services, or international transfers will be disclosed where applicable.

Any additional cost to be borne by the customer will be disclosed before payment.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, the customer must ensure that San Blas Shared receives the full amount required for the booking.

If the amount received is lower because of fees, deductions, currency errors, or any other difference, the booking will remain pending until the shortfall is paid.

6. Written Confirmation

After confirming actual receipt of the booking amount, San Blas Shared will send the customer a written confirmation.

The confirmation will state, as applicable:

  • the booked experience;
  • the catamaran, cabin, or accommodation;
  • the dates;
  • the number of passengers;
  • the total price;
  • the amount received by San Blas Shared; and
  • any remaining balance.

The written confirmation does not replace or amend the specific policy previously accepted by the customer.

Operational instructions, such as schedules, meeting point, luggage, documents, and recommendations, will be sent closer to the date of the experience.

7. Outstanding Balance

Any remaining balance will be paid according to the terms stated in the specific policy and booking confirmation. Failure to pay the balance by the agreed deadline or in the agreed manner may result in the provider refusing to deliver the service and may be treated as a default or no-show by the customer, according to the provider’s terms and the specific policy.

8. Availability During Payment

Availability shown during the quotation process does not represent a final hold on the cabin or accommodation. Availability will be checked again immediately before payment and will be guaranteed only after the booking has been formed as provided in this Policy.

9. Transportation and Other Separate Services

Ground, sea, or air transportation is not part of the booking intermediated by San Blas Shared.

San Blas Shared will recommend licensed and recommended providers, but the transportation contract and payment will be made directly between the customer and the transportation provider.

Payment, change, cancellation, and refund rules for transportation will be those established by the contracted provider.

The same applies to tours, food, beverages, activities, and other services not included in the experience offered by the catamaran or accommodation provider.

Booking these separate services does not change the rules applicable to the main booking.

10. Cancellation by the Customer

Cancellation must be requested in writing by the person responsible for the booking.

The cancellation date will be the date on which San Blas Shared actually receives the request.

After the booking has been confirmed, the treatment of the amount paid to San Blas Shared in the event of cancellation by the customer will follow the terms of the specific policy accepted before payment.

11. Partial Cancellation

If one or more group members withdraw, or if the number of guests, cabins, or nights is reduced, the matter will be handled in accordance with the specific policy accepted before payment. Such changes do not automatically reduce the contracted price.

12. Change of Dates or Experience

Requests for changes after the booking has been formed will be subject to the terms of the specific policy accepted by the customer. Depending on the circumstances, a change may require cancellation of the original booking and formation of a new booking.

13. Passenger Substitution

Whether a passenger may be replaced by another person will depend on the terms of the experience, the service provider, and the applicable specific policy.

14. Late Arrival and Early Departure

There will be no automatic price reduction or refund in the event of:

  • late arrival;
  • early departure;
  • loss of a night;
  • a decision to leave the experience before it ends;
  • a flight change;
  • transportation delay;
  • a change in personal plans.

The experience will remain available in accordance with the terms originally booked, where operationally possible.

15. No-Show

Failure by the customer to appear on the stated date, at the stated time, or at the stated location will be considered a no-show. A no-show does not entitle the customer to a refund, credit, or reduction of the outstanding balance.

The same consequences applicable to a no-show may apply, in accordance with the specific policy, when the customer is unable to participate because of:

  • missing documents;
  • lack of authorization;
  • immigration issues;
  • personal circumstances;
  • health-related problems or events affecting any member of the group or their family members;
  • missed transportation;
  • delay;
  • flight change;
  • failure to meet entry requirements;
  • other reasons not attributable to San Blas Shared or the service provider.

16. Health, Allergies, and Special Needs

Allergies, dietary restrictions, medical conditions, mobility limitations, and special needs must be disclosed before the booking is confirmed.

San Blas Shared will consult the service provider regarding whether those needs can be accommodated.

Failure to provide information in advance may prevent adaptations or make the experience unsuitable.

Cancellations resulting from personal or health-related circumstances will be subject to the specific policy accepted by the customer.

Travel insurance covering cancellations, medical emergencies, accidents, transportation, and other unforeseen events is recommended.

17. Provider Cancellation or Unavailability

If the catamaran or accommodation provider is unable to deliver the experience, San Blas Shared will act as intermediary to seek a reasonable solution in light of the circumstances and the specific policy accepted by the customer.

18. Weather Conditions

Rain, cloud cover, variations in wind, or other weather conditions common in a tropical region do not, by themselves, constitute grounds for cancellation or refund.

The responsible service provider may change itineraries, schedules, islands, and activities, where applicable, in order to preserve safety and the quality of the experience.

Where an itinerary applies, a change that preserves the essence of the experience will not be considered a cancellation.

Where an official order, access closure, or safety condition prevents the experience from being delivered, the alternatives provided in the specific policy accepted by the customer will apply.

19. Force Majeure and Events Beyond the Parties’ Control

Events outside the parties’ reasonable control may affect or prevent the experience, including:

  • severe weather conditions;
  • closure of roads or ports;
  • orders or actions by authorities;
  • restrictions imposed by Guna communities;
  • public health emergencies;
  • conflicts;
  • natural disasters;
  • widespread disruptions to access or transportation that prevent the experience from being delivered;
  • other unforeseeable or unavoidable events.

In these situations, San Blas Shared will seek to coordinate with the service provider the alternatives provided in the specific policy accepted by the customer.

20. Guest Conduct

The service provider may end a guest’s participation if the guest:

  • fails to follow safety instructions;
  • engages in unlawful conduct;
  • places others at risk;
  • damages the vessel or accommodation;
  • engages in aggressive or abusive behavior;
  • seriously disrupts other guests;
  • fails to comply with the rules of Guna communities.

The financial consequences of ending participation will be those provided in the applicable specific policy, without prejudice to liability for any resulting damage.

21. Payment Disputes

The mere filing of a payment dispute, chargeback, or reversal request does not, by itself, change the contractual terms of the booking. Any reversal actually processed will be handled in accordance with the circumstances of the booking, the specific policy, and applicable law.

We recommend that the customer contact San Blas Shared before initiating a payment dispute so that the matter can be reviewed and, where possible, resolved directly.

22. Documents Applicable to the Booking

Each booking will be governed by the set of information and documents provided to the customer, in particular:

  • the commercial terms of the experience;
  • the specific policy accepted before payment;
  • the written booking confirmation;
  • the Terms and Conditions;
  • the Privacy Policy.

Each document will prevail with respect to the subject matter it specifically governs. The specific policy accepted before payment will prevail with respect to booking, change, cancellation, no-show, and refund rules. The expressly accepted commercial terms will prevail with respect to the experience, dates, price, passengers, and included services.

The written confirmation will record the elements of the booking and may not unilaterally change previously accepted terms.

Operational instructions sent before the trip will not change financial or cancellation terms unless expressly agreed.

23. Changes to this General Policy

This General Policy may be updated to reflect changes in procedures, services, or applicable law.

Updating this page will not change the specific policy already accepted for a confirmed booking.
