We recommend a 4 to 6 night experience. The minimum stay is 3 nights, but the longer you remain aboard, the more flexibility there is to reach more distant areas of San Blas, such as Cayo Coco Bandero and Cayo Holandeses, always depending on weather, sea conditions, and operational logistics at the time of your trip.
In a shared experience, the arrivals and departures of other guests can directly influence the route and the time available in each region. This is an important detail that doesn’t always appear clearly in other online ads, but it makes a real difference to the experience.
That is why we prefer to explain it before you book: a longer stay increases navigation possibilities, reduces the proportional impact of embarkation and disembarkation logistics, and helps you experience San Blas with better-aligned expectations from the beginning.
– Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 1 menu per meal based on fish, octopus, lobster, chicken, or vegetarian, depending on boat availability and the time of your experience;
– Beer, regular Coca-Cola, or white wine with lunch and dinner, with moderate consumption: 2 or 3 cans of beer/Coca-Cola per person per day, or 1 bottle of wine per day for every 2 people.
– Drinking water
– Mask and snorkel.
– Navigation between the islands of Guna Yala / San Blas.
– Outdoor and indoor showers.
– 1 set of bed linens per cabin, per stay.
– 1 bath towel per person, per stay.
IMPORTANT: Before confirming your reservation, tell us about any food allergies, intolerances, or dietary preferences. We will check with the crew to confirm whether your needs can be accommodated.
– Transportation between Panama City / Guna Yala (San Blas) / Panama City.
– Guna territory entrance fee: approximately USD 25 per person.
– Visit fees charged on some inhabited islands: approximately USD 2 to USD 5 per person.
– Gratuities for the crew
By land (shared transportation): a 4×4 vehicle picks you up at the hotel listed in your reservation at around 5:00 a.m. There is no other departure time for this shared transfer. The road journey takes approximately 3 hours. Much of the route is paved, although some sections may still be unpaved, and the road is winding. Guna Yala is an autonomous Indigenous territory, and access is regulated by its authorities.. Before entering the territory, all visitors pass through a checkpoint where passports and confirmation of a reservation aboard a boat authorized to operate in the region may be verified.
After the checkpoint, you reach the port, where there is normally a wait of about 1 hour before you are called to board the speedboat that will take you to the catamaran. The speedboat ride can take from 40 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes, depending on where the catamaran is anchored. We coordinate this stage with the ground transportation company, the Guna operators responsible for the speedboats, and the reserved catamaran.
Reference rate: USD 155 per person, round trip. Payment is made directly to the transportation company. We provide logistical support and answer questions, but we do not process third-party transportation payments.
Infrastructure at the boarding point is very limited. Buy anything you may need during the trip in Panama City before departure. San Blas has no hospitals, ATMs, banks, conventional stores, restaurants, bars, or nightclubs. Before booking, make sure the destination is compatible with what you are looking for. If you expect parties, an open bar, or an all-inclusive resort, San Blas is probably not the right destination.

By land: a shared 4x4 leaves Panama City at around 5:00 a.m. and picks you up at the hotel listed in your reservation. This is the only departure time allowed under the local Guna transportation schedule. After approximately three hours on the road, there is usually about a one-hour wait at the locally managed port. A speedboat then takes you to your catamaran or island accommodation, typically in about 1 to 1.5 hours. The complete trip usually takes around five hours, although timing varies.
By air: a private small aircraft departs from a hangar in Panama City and reaches San Blas in approximately 40 minutes. Reference pricing generally ranges from USD 250 to USD 350 per person, depending on the travel period, passenger count, route, total weight, and aircraft required.
It depends on the experience. Catamarans offer different comfort levels, including some options with air conditioning. Bungalows do not have air conditioning and rely on natural Caribbean ventilation. If A/C is essential for your comfort, tell us before booking so we can recommend compatible options.
It depends on the option. Most catamaran cabins have private bathrooms, although some have shared bathrooms. All bungalows have a private bathroom. We recommend telling us your priorities so we can guide you accurately.
Shared catamarans require a minimum of 3 nights, while we recommend 4 to 6 nights for a better balance of sailing, island time, and flexibility. Island stays have a 2-night minimum.
Connectivity is limited. Some catamarans offer Starlink, while others may rely on cellular service or have no connection. The bungalows have Starlink. Because San Blas is remote, connectivity can be interrupted for hours or longer.
Yes. Children are welcome, but San Blas Shared is designed primarily for couples, small groups of friends, and adults comfortable sharing the experience with other guests. Depending on the children's ages and the family's needs, a private Anemoi San Blas experience may offer more privacy, flexibility, and comfort.
No. We do not operate fixed routes or island-by-island itineraries. Weather, wind, currents, local logistics, and other guests' arrivals and departures influence the route. The captain plans each day with safety, comfortable navigation, and the overall quality of the experience as priorities.
Because San Blas is remote and each experience has its own logistics, it is completely normal to have questions. We are here to help you understand how the destination works and which option may be right for you.
Every traveler is looking for something different in San Blas. Our team helps you compare shared catamarans and bungalows, answer your questions, and choose the option that best matches your travel style, expectations, and budget.
